19–21 October 2026 | Como, Italy

The 4th RHINOEDU Master Dissection Course brought together leading international surgeons and participants in Como, Italy, for three days of advanced training in paranasal sinus, orbital and skull base surgery.

The course was directed by Professor Paolo Battaglia, with Professor Paolo Castelnuovo as Honorary President and Professor Mario Turri-Zanoni as Scientific Coordinator. Professor Darlene Lubbe participated as Guest of Honour, contributing to the course’s teaching and scientific exchange.

Alongside the cadaveric dissections, there was an opportunity to explore two Anatomex 3D models. The Bookface Sinus Model provided a simple way to demonstrate sinonasal anatomy, while the Transorbital Model offered an additional perspective on the intricate anatomy of the orbit and skull base.

One particularly enjoyable moment was watching Professors Castelnuovo and Battaglia become engrossed in dissecting the Transorbital Model. Although an informal addition to the course, the model attracted considerable interest and brought a few smiles to the faces of these highly experienced surgeons.

It was a lovely reminder that exploring anatomy can still be engaging and enjoyable, even for those who have spent a lifetime teaching and advancing the field.
