Sydney’s Expert Skullbase Workshop: Advanced Techniques

Sydney’s expert skullbase workshop – the Endoscopic Orbital & Skullbase Workshop 2025 – is set to begin this Wednesday, March 26, at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), bringing together some of the world’s leading specialists in endoscopic surgery.

The two-day workshop is a key event on the Australasian surgical calendar, offering a high-level learning experience for ENT surgeons, neurosurgeons, and skull base specialists.

Convened by Dr. Catherine Banks, with co-direction by internationally renowned surgeon Dr. Ben Bleier, the workshop provides an intensive deep dive into advanced endoscopic approaches to the orbit and skull base. Attendees will engage in lectures, interactive discussions, and hands-on dissection sessions, with a focus on anatomy, surgical technique, and clinical application.

With its cadaveric dissection labs, case-based learning, and expert faculty, the workshop is recognised for setting a benchmark in skull base training. Participants will work with state-of-the-art tools and models, reinforcing the importance of cadaver-free surgical simulation and safe, reproducible techniques.

The event is presented under the auspices of the Australian Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery (ASOHNS) and has attracted both local and international delegates looking to refine their skills in this challenging and evolving field.

As the 2025 workshop gets underway, it reflects a growing global interest in minimally invasive approaches to the orbit and skull base, supported by ongoing innovation in simulation tools, imaging, and surgical planning.
