ENT SASLHA Congress 2025 - Anatomex 3D models display

Anatomex 3D Debuts Range of Models at the 2025 ENT SASLHA Congress

The annual ENT SASLHA Congress, held in Port Elizabeth from 16 to 19 October 2025, once again proved to be a highlight on the South African ENT and audiology calendar. Drawing leading otolaryngologists, audiologists, and allied healthcare professionals from across the country, the event offered four days of insightful presentations, surgical demonstrations, and networking among peers.

The congress was expertly organised, with a rich programme of lectures and live dissections by well-known figures, as well as international guests, including Hesham Saleh, Christoph Schlegel, Iain Bruce, Thomas Linder and Daniel Simmen, making it an invaluable forum for knowledge sharing and clinical advancement. Anatomex 3D product innovator Darlene Lubbe also presented a couple of segments and shared the last cadaver dissection of the congress with neurosurgeon Christos Profyris.

For Anatomex 3D, the event marked an exciting milestone. The company was proud to debut most of its surgical simulation models at the congress – its first comprehensive exhibition at a national ENT meeting. Previously, Anatomex 3D showcased individual models, most notably the Transorbital Surgical Model at various international congresses and workshops. This year, however, delegates were also introduced to the Air-41 Airway Model, the Sagittal Airway Model, the Thyroid Model, the Aesthetics Simulation Trainer and, for the very first time, the Bookface Sinus Model, a lifelike sinonasal teaching and patient-communication tool developed in collaboration with Darlene Lubbe to better help patients understand their condition and treatment options.

Notable collaborations

Anatomex 3D was honoured to share an exhibition stand with KARL STORZ, where the renowned endoscopy company demonstrated its VITOM Eagle 3D exoscope using Anatomex 3D models to illustrate the precision and realism of both systems in surgical training. Additional collaborations included the Fiagon stand, where a Transorbital Model Head with Clear Orbit was used to showcase FIAGON’s advanced navigation technology, and the DISA Life Sciences and Disa Medinotec stand — where the Air-41 Airway Model supported demonstrations of the Trachealator, a non-occlusive airway dilation balloon system used to treat tracheal stenosis by gently stretching the airway.

The ENT SASLHA congress provided an exceptional platform to engage directly with ENT specialists, educators, and device innovators. For Anatomex 3D, the enthusiastic response underscored the growing recognition of high-fidelity simulation tools as essential in both surgical training and patient education. The event was not only a showcase of innovation but also a celebration of collaboration and continuous learning in the ENT and audiology community.

We look forward to seeing everyone again at the next ENT SASLHA Congress.
